It has been known for some years that there is interaction between the VDR & AR (vitamin D & androgen receptors). I have often wondered whether maintaining healthy vitamin D (calcidiol, 25-D) levels is useful when testosterone [T] is at castrate levels, but there are calcitriol (1,25-D) studies that indicate that it may be.

I feel that men on active surveillance should have T restored, if necessary, & a sufficiency of calcidiol.
