T Levels and cortisone injection

Since 6-16, robotic surgery, proton tx, chemo, and 18 months of lupron. Lupron stopped 1-20-19 due to side effects. T level 1-19 was 12, 2-19 was 14, 3-19 was 22. Today (5-10) its 150. Question: 7 days ago received Cortison shots (2) in shoulders for inflamed tendonitis... did these shots cause T level to rise, or am I getting testiclar function back now that lupron is dc'd?

Hey theopolis!

Inflamed tendonitis huh? How many rounds of fluoroquinolones have you been give prior to procedures such as biopsies and whatever else?

Even after I had reported an adverse effect to my uro as diagnosed by a chiropractor, oh yeah! She is experienced and has seen this happen to patients before. The warning that comes with these drugs is that they can attack the Achilles tendons. What she has seen in her decades of practice is that old injuries are truly the low hanging fruit for these drugs.

I was again given Cipro and Levaquin for the first post ablation biopsy. Therapy exercise was mentioned to help heal the damage I was still trying to repair before the 3 day, oral Cipro regimen and intramuscular Levaquin shot I was given just prior to first post ablation biopsy. I was still trying to rebuild my right shoulder which I had heard shred! Another long repaired injury, a back ligament ripped again! When I was refusing a second post ablation biopsy with one reason being my fear of the quinolone drugs I was told that this time only the intramuscular shot of Levaquin would be used inferring that it would be "safe". Didn't turn out that way! I lost my left shoulder!

Did you ever have shoulder injuries? I lost both shoulders and am suffering every day with a back ligament that had healed in 1988 that I had forgotten had ever been injured. I was unable to let an unloaded 45 lb. bar travel more than halfway down when benching because the pain was excruciating. I had previously before the quinolone damage used 265 to work out with, sets and reps. I have been seen flat benching 320 lbs. raw. I couldn't support my body weight for a dip. I had been doing 12 full range dips with a 45 lb. plate suspended by a dip belt at a body weight of 215 to 220. I am lighter now by at least 40 lbs. not having been able to maintain my muscle. Recently I have gotten the full of movement back with clicking and clacking. Pain is decreasing and strength is beginning to return. I have been screwed up from 2014 to now because of the Cipro and Levaquin. I can't get those years back and the life in front of me is getting short.

How does one start their personal training business when they can't demonstrate how an exercise is done? Oh the sleep! At the worst of it I might have gotten an hour's sleep before pain woke me and I needed to find a position I could again sleep in.

Rocephin and Cefdinir can be used rather than the quinolones which in the last couple years the FDA has strengthened their warnings about these drugs. Joint, tendon and ligament damages are bad but people have died from adverse reactions to these drugs. If someone has already had an adverse reaction to a drug why roll the dice and use it on them again?

Same pain issues. Limited opiate help. Worked up to 100mg a day CBD drops on oyster cracker under my tongue every 6 hours have worked for the last 6 months, FOR ME.

I lost my range of motion with both shoulders. The right shoulder in August 2014. It audibly shredded. I reported an adverse reaction to my uro as diagnosed by my chiropractor. Receiving ultrasound treatments and therapy, special nutrition. I should have had that shoulder in a sling. I kept it mobile by lifting my right hand with my left to get supplement bottles from the kitchen cabinets.

More Cipro and Levaquin for biopsy in December 2014. The back ligament ripped in February of 2015 when getting out of bed!

January 2017 another biopsy. "Only" Levaquin would be used because of my concerns about being crippled. I did not want the biopsy. I lost the strength and range of motion in my left shoulder from that injection. The back ligament that had been mostly healed has also kept me in pain.

Try large amounts of ginger, curcumin and some ibuprofen for pain.

Surgery 11-15 . First shots lupron almost killed me!

Then acclimated well (1 yr) no problem.

Now on Xtandi + shots 3 months.

PSA undetectable ; can’t walk very far or work out to long.

Playing golf, shooting range etc. do what I want!

Living and loving life, Gave it all to God! Don’t know where he is, but he ant lost!!

A rising T level takes time after Lupron withdrawal.

After 18 months, you will likely need 4 - 6 months before you go above the castrate level.

For example, (after 16 mos withdrawal) my last injection was July 2018. So my trigger date moves to November (+ 3 mos).

My T is NOW at 75. After 3 months, it was sitting around 30.

In my case, recovery is fairly slow, but the ADT takes time to become ineffective.

Hope you're feeling better as time goes on ....
