I posted about my weak legs to the point that I am now in a walker about two weeks ago. I am on Xtandi and had so many replies I could not respond to all with what has been going on this past week. So, first of all, I want to say “ thank you” for all of your replies. This will be a long post but, please stay with me here, as it may help someone!
I am 76. We live in Virginia with second home in Florida. In 2015. I was diagnosed with aggressive pc (gs 7) and made decision to have a prostatectomy followed with radiation sessions of prostate bed, all done in Virginia. PSA dropped down, all good. Later while in Florida my PSA started rising. Oncologist in Va. said needed to start Lupron Harmon shots & Zometa infusions ASAP. In Florida, Moffitt Cancer Center is a little over a drive from our house. Moffitt is ranked no. 8 and best in southeast USA. There I was diagnosed with stage 4 and had metastasized to ribs and left shoulder. My journey started with all the usual meds that most of you are familiar with. This year while still in Florida the weak legs started. So after my last post I called my Oncologist at Moffitt to see if I should cut back on the Xtandi. They before we do that, they wanted me to see their Urgent Care Department at Moffitt. There they did a multiple layer
MRI of my spine (1 1/2 hrs. 😬). Found two major tumors had spread off left & right side rear ribs plus one in upper back giving me back pain. The tumors on rear left & right have wrapped around the tube that carries the spinal cored & nerve and starting to push against the nerve. This is causing the weak & not functioning correctly legs. They immediately radiated the three tumors and put on major steroids to cut down on inflammation. Just got back from Moffitt stay & treatment. Will take 4 to 6 weeks to start seeing results. Will let you know what happens. Hope this helps some of you. You never know when or where a tumor will spread! Happy Easter😎!
