Ralph Moss?

Does anyone have familiarity with or opinions about Ralph Moss? He's a Californian and concentrates on alternative medicine. He offers a Moss Report on Prostate Cancer that costs around $350, and it deals with both alternative and conventional treatments. Thanks, and best wishes to all.

You can get a lot of conventional and alternative treatments on this site, not to mention great advice and information. Save your money.

Please tell us a little more about you. Stage, Gleason, PSA. If you have something that is beatable find the best oncologists you can. Not alternatives. I was diagnosed at 62- 3 years ago. Fatigue was the start of my prostate "journey". Thats it. Seeing my GP and complaining about that. Blood work found my PSA to be 12 . I've had DaVinci removal , prostate radiation since then. After surgery and radiation I had something called persistent PSA. 5 conventional scans saw / found nothing. Last year with a trial only scan (GA68-PSMA) my oncologist got me at UCSF they found metastasis in both my lungs. I have a very knowledgeable oncologist who works closely with a major quality institution (UCSF). You need forward-thinking oncologist who do that also..doing it now. Oncologists like I have who think outside the box and get you into what you need to get this cured. I am Stage 4 metastatic to the lungs. Three years I was complaining to my GP about fatigue. Life has flipped on me... if you can don't let it happen to you. I won't win this but I'm with a team doing all they can to hold this disease off. Please again don't think about alternative when the time you have now is your most crucial to stopping your cancer. Surround yourself with prostate specialists now and beat this.

Thanks a lot, Michael, words of wisdom. My journey is almost a year old, and so far, after brachy boost, I seem to be doing OK. But my original numbers were very high (PSA 49, Gleason 9) so I'm always on the lookout. I read your post from 6 months ago, and I'll continue to follow you. You're in good hands, and hopefully we'll both be around and trying to help others here many years from now!

I'm now 6 months past EBRT and 5.5 months past brachytherapy, with few if any SE's so far, urinary or bowel.

My advice would be: Use alternatives later and perhaps as support for ongoing treatment. But don't use only alternatives while dismissing the treatments availabe t you through a knowledgeable medical team.

Used to read his newsletter and also have his 2013 Moss Report on Prostate Cancer book (500+ pages), I don't remember how much I paid, if anything but it was not close to $300 . From what I remember, he is very good, promotes a good diet and is open to both alternative and conventional treatment. I practiced a strict alternative treatment and diet lifestyle for about 8 years but I still came down with prostate cancer that has now metastasized, about 5 years ago I added hormonal treatment.

A howling groan gather no Moss....

On his website he touts that he once was writer for Memorial Sloan Kettering cancer center in NYC.

This was said about him in Wikipedia:

Ralph Walter Moss (born May 6, 1943) is an American author whose writings promote complementary and alternative cancer treatments. In 1974, he earned a PhD in Classics from Stanford University.[1]

HE WAS FIRED FROM MSK <======

Moss served as a science writer[2] at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the 1970s. He was fired in 1977 by Sloan-Kettering after publicly accusing the institution of suppressing information on laetrile, a now-discredited alternative cancer treatment.

[3] He has subsequently served on the advisory board of the Office of Alternative Medicine, and he markets Moss Reports covering various forms of alternative medicine.[4][5]
