Hello to all my Brothers here and a very Happy New Year. I have been on Zytiga, Prednisone. Eligard since February 2018 so far PSA has been undetectable since first month treatment
I'm now having pain in my back aeoind the middle pf my spine that is very annoying
It a dull pain and bearable but a pain never rhe less I have bone Mets so I'm thinking it might be radiation time. Any thoughts? Otherwise I feel pretty good for one year under my belt Leo

Sounds like we are on a similar treatment path with similar concerns. In June '18 I was at PSA 350 when I started on Lupron, Zytega +pred, and 2 weeks ago my PSA was 0.04, lowest to date. Alles Klar!
I wouldn't be this far into treatment if I hadn't trusted my own awareness of my body a couple months earlier as I hadn't had PSA checked for several years prior. I think it's important to take our concerns to our Dr's. when we have them rather than wait. I trust my Urologist and my MO, but it's a lot easier for them to be patient and wait till the next scheduled appointment to discuss things than it is for us with the disease. I might annoy them, but I always have lots of questions at appointments and in between....should we be looking into this?, Wouldn't it be good to do that test too? etc.

Spinal compression can be debilitating. Are you sure the lesions on your spine are from cancer - did you biopsy any? did they shrink when you started hormone therapy? If you're sure, SBRT may prevent spinal compression. Also consider adding Zometa+Celebrex.
At my last CT scan my Doctors told me Mets were subsided. This is a dull pain that is primarily based in the middle to upper back very close to spine.
I've also been on Xgeva from the beginning of treatments once a month injection
If I were a doctor.... I'd be in the Bahamas right now.... So since I'm just a patient and taking my wife to Costco for dinner... I would suggest that you leave a voicemail with your doctor's office for the next available appointment.

What does the MRI report about the lesions, lytic or blastic? PCa spine lesions are typically blastic (build up of cells in bone).
We're on the same treatment, my init diagnosis GS 8, PSA 1000+, after 2 month PSA 0.5. Nice drop for now. Anyway, had a biopsy of T8 vertebra (MRI showed extensive spine Mets), report was "negative" for malignant cells.
Patrick from this forum, suggested a test to reveal if my spine Mets originated from PCa, going to get it done.
So, don't just take test results without thorough examination by you...
what ever happened from your scans? What was causing the pain in your spine area?
Scans showed no Mets to spine the pain was from a bone spur. I have extensive Mets all over but not on spine.
Oh interesting. Did the lupron cause the bone spur?
I'm not sure but Doc didn't say one way or another.
One year and change... and change... and change
