I just started chemo with docetaxel this week and have also noticed an increase in pain. I am seriously hoping it's millions of cancer cells crying out and suddenly being silenced. It makes some amount of sense if the dying cells are dumping out their contents all at once and causing a spike in inflammation and immune response.
Not sure if that really happens or it's just wishful thinking on my part, but any positive spin we can put our condition has to help, right?
I've been experiencing an increase in hip and groin pain since my first xofigo treatment. I too was told by my RO that the minor ache I was feeling prior to treatment should go away after treatment, but on the contrary it has increased. I hope is it only the cancer cells trying to fight back, but will eventually be vanquished.
I've had two more xofigo treatments, and bone pain after each although this third one seemed to be less than the first two. The fatigue on the other hand seems to get worse each time. I am hoping that it will get better each successive treatment. Guess I will see.
My first three injections resulted in hip and groin pain plus fatigue. The third injection didn't seem to generate as much bone pain, but more fatigue. I have another injection coming in two weeks and I will see how that goes.
