My husband is considering going there (we are waiting for insurance approval) and would love to hear feedback.

Thank you!

Eleni Efstathiou is at the leading edge of many of the most promising PC treatments.

Thank you so much! Great to hear. Have you been treated by her?

No - I only know her by her great reputation, I have spoken to a few patients who have used her. The feedback I've gotten is that it's sometimes hard to meet with her, but that she tailors the treatment to the patient's needs.

I hate to disagree with Tall Allen,I met with Dr E three times, last year, she tested me to death, she was very quick to get out of the office,on my last visit I requested a treatment plan, she did not answer.my wife an I were sitting there looking at each other. After many calls to her office her nurse (very nice) sent me a plan.chemo an xgeve,I was not impressed, only one persons opinion

I agree. typical md anderson. right hand does not know what left hand is doing.

Dr. E scanned me to death. Wanted to place me on Lupron with no scan results indicating anything. Just a slight psa rise. I walked in the door, but ran for the exit.

I am in my second clinical trial at MDA and was followed in between for 5 years. I've always been impressed by the organization. Staff are well organized and helpful.

I was not impressed by my follow up care. But the clinical trials have been well planned and organized and I feel like my treatment team is highly knowledgeable

I've not found that a specific provider is critical to thier process. Treatment is provided and overseen by a wider group.

I'd highly recommend them.

I have been treated at MDA for the past 8 years by Dr Armando Zurita. He got me into a cliniccal trial with a drug called Zytiga. My PSA has been undetectable for 7 1/2 years and leisions have either shrunk remarkabally or have disappeared. I would strongly encourage you to make an appointment for a second oppinion and visit MDA. You do not need to be referred by your doctor. You can call them directly with a number on their website. May God Bless You!

I have been treated at MDA for six years by Dr. Zurita. So far he has done right by me. He has always had my best interests in mind. In the beginning he had me on several phase II trials, one at a time of course. Been on one Phase I. Have had 3 rounds of radiation and doing chemo currently. Now about to start the last standard of care currently available, XOFIGO. All this started back on 12/31/2012 with stage IV cMPC (Prostate, lymph nodes, simanal vessels, with ten bone Mets).

Thanks this is encouraging. They don't accept our insurance but we are in the process of changing it. Is taxotere the chemo you are doing?
