Taxotere side effects

Question for the brothers I am on taxatere every 3 weeks had last infusion last week very hard on me 10 days in major fatigue constipation nausea sleep 12 hours a day. My question is taking it every 2 weeks easier on you

I finished my Taxotere on 07/2108 had six treatments and each one was progressively easier on the nausea. A stool softener will definitely help with the constipation > Fatigue did get better for me as I tried to stay as busy as I could stand. Good luck on your journey Brother and keep the faith !!!

If you have Docetaxel ( taxotere ) at 2 week intervals, the damage to immune system and elsewhere may be higher than you might like. 3 weeks is most common, and maybe the docs allowing 2 weeks have a reduced dose. If the dose is too small, it becomes less effective on Pca. The dose varies between men according to their weight and also to the side effects they have. Some at 50have terrible side effects, but someone 80 might have no side effects; it is all a bit non predictable.

My doc said chemo will not give me a cure, and may only give me time with less fast rise of Psa, but eventually most chemo stops working.

It may work on some mets, but not on others, depending in the mutations of DNA in mets. Mets have different DNA to the original primary site of Pca. Pca is a bunch of crazy growing cells which divide and increase their numbers. The older ones die off with newer ones having with more and more DNA differences over time, and thus give different response to the same treatments, ie, usually are less affected by standard treatment options at time goes by.
