Has anyone experienced any new side effects when blood thinner for a-fib was added to their drug mix?

Blood thinners and ADT
What is the "blood thinner"? -Patrick
After each of 3 6 month injections of Lupron I went into A-Fib within 6 weeks or less. Each time I was cardio converted. At the time I was on Atenolol which I had been taking for 14 years. For Blood thinner I was using low dose aspirin. Finally after the third event my cardiologist tried Catheter Ablation to eliminate A-Fib. The ablation procedure was unsuccessful and am now in permanent A-Fib taking Xarelto for blood thinner. There was no noticeable side effects when on both Xarelto and Lupron.
I am on rythmol (propafenone) and metatoprol succinate for a-fib management. I had flutter ablation years ago; I really wanted a-fib ablation but cardiologist refused to authorize that. Ended up in the ER and got the flutter ablation. I am on low dose aspirin for stroke prevention. Sorry to hear about your a-fib problems; that can't be easy to deal with. BTW I had no a-fib episodes during the six month ADT dose. I was lucky to have a good electrophysiologist surgeon for that flutter ablation.
I was on Eliquis for about a year. Have been on Eligard for 5+ years. Have moved to low dose aspirin for afib since ablation procedure was successful. No side effects from blood thinners other than being more prone to bruising. Now on Eligard + erleada. Still no side effects. I am 80 years old.
Thanks. I’ve got a year on you but not too old to learn something new. Was
told by my cardiologist this week that aspirin is not a blood “thinner”.....rather it keeps platelets from binding together to form clots. He wants me to take Pradaxa but after reading up on it I am not so sure. Strange thing...there is no way to measure its efficacy.
I was DX with a pulmonary embolism and was immediately put on Eliquis. I followed up with a cardiologist because I had a continuing flutter I could feel in my pulse. Cardiologist recommended I get an ablation procedure. I stayed on Eliquis for a while after the ablation and I asked if it was possible to get off of Eliquis. He said I should wear a heart monitor for a month to be sure the flutter was gone. The flutter was gone. He suggested I take the aspirin after I stopped taking Eliquis. I was on Eliquis and Eligard together for over a year with no problems.
When I asked my cardiologist about how to tell if Eliquis was working, he stated it is part of their protocol for afib. They give me a choice between Eliquis and Pradaxa and said their effectiveness were almost the same. Cuomadin, in contrast, was cheaper but was less targeted and required monthly monitoring and dosage tuning. I know no more.
