My husband Mel age 62 was diagnosed yesterday with his prostate cancer returning after a few months short of a 10 year diagnoses at age 52. His was diagnosed as aggressive back then and our local dr offered surgery. We went to Cancer Centers of America and was given stats on radiation vs surgery and survival was about the same either way. Husband did three months radiation and a few years of hormone shots. A few months ago his back started hurting and thought he better go to CTCA for a check up. His PSA is elevated and they have found a mass on his adrenal glands. Which doesn’t look good. We have a very specialized pet scan because big done April 9th.

I’m sorry for what sounds like a possible recurrence. Treatment options have advanced a lot in the past decade. Hopefully it’s back under control quickly.
Thank you, yes it does seem like that will be the final news. Odd enough my husband is bracing himself for the battle. I am so happy I found this group.
i had recurrance in 2011 after initial radiation and seeds in Feb 2000. Have since been on intermittent ADT Lubron and cosodex. Still going ok after a year on then a year off. Im lucky and hope it keeps up. Good Luck, some great new treatments available.
