Friend of mine had read where the prostate cancer foundation had recommended the taking of statins to reduce the risk of death due to prostate cancer. Anybody heard of it . Thanks Larry

Taking Statins. Cholesterol prescription
I'm afraid that there are studies that say it has an association with better outcomes and studies that say it has no association with better outcomes (a couple even found outcomes were worse). There's never been a definitive randomized trial that might prove an effect. As with metformin and aspirin, it is cheap and fairly harm-free in low doses, so why not? Some studies suggest a synergistic benefit among the 3 (others don't). Even if it does nothing, it helps one feel like he is taking at least some control over his disease. Watch for signs of muscle pain from it.
Thanks T_A ! I’ve been mulling it over . But I hate to add more pharma to the plate if not needed..Muscle pain? Not a fan of that either. Think I’ll hold off for now. Get well soon . 💪
I was recently at a dementia conference where the gerontologist recommended no statins as they can cause memory problems in the elderly.
Diagnosed at 66. Now 43 months later it’s worrying me. Hating the monster 😡😡
