Xtandi dosage

Started on xtandi 10 weeks ago and PSA has reduced from 30 to 5 . I have been taking the tablets one 4 times a day but now I realise from other posts here that I should have been taking the 160 mgs all at once. My doctor didn't make it clear and I just took it for granted with 4 pills it was 4 times a day . I have had Few side effects, really only nausea. I was wondering if any body else takes them four times a day and if their doctors recommended this method.

My father was told to take them all at once the same time each day. Great results! We are waiting for my fathers 1 month PSA results tomorrow 🙏🏻

Yes...that is how the pills are taken...4 pills...once daily. I take them before bedtime and have not experienced significant side effects, although I am fortunate, as others on this site have had to deal with typical Xtandi side effects.

Hi Agsy

I started taking Xtandi 3 weeks ago and will have a blood test on Tuesday. My last PSA reading was 2.1. I was told to take 4 x 40mg capsules all at the same time every day. I will let you know the results.

When I was on full dose I took all 4 at bedtime

Interesting, started Xtandi 2/16 , PSA dropped to undetectable immediately. Stayed there since then.

My dosage pattern was : started at 2 pills per day ramped up to the full 4 then dropped to 2 per day, then 1 per day, now take M/W/F for 6 months, if stay good then drop T/Th, etc

Dr Myers believes that resistance formation has a correlation to dosage, so find the lowest dose that will keep control once reach undetectable. So hopefully, you achieve PSA goal for longest duration. He based this on the large population of his patients for many years.

Would like to hear what others have heard about this dosage /resistance relationship

I want to thank you for your post podsart. It is the most encouraging thing I’ve read in a while. My dx was 3-1/2 years ago. Have had Lupron, radiation on bone mets and Provenge. Have now been on Zytiga for 3 months, so Xtandi is hopefully a ways off for me. Some of the posts here (plus discussions with my doctor) have made me very worried about the potential side effects of Xtandi. Thanks again for the positive comments.

Anybody had digestive problems with xtandi ? First few months ok but now getting quite bad reflux and nausea. Any solutions ?

I've had such bad stomach issues they did a GI on me to see what was up...nothing. I strongly suspect it;s the Xtandi. My appetite is gone; I hardly eat.

Funny thing has happened . As I said above taking 1 tablet 4 times a day reduced psa from 30 to 5 in 10 weeks . Starting taking 4 tablets all together and now psa jumped to 7.3 in 4 weeks ! Any ideas or views. Must say I am disappointed as I thought I might have been on to a winner for a few years

Our smart Patrick (pjoshea13) recommends to kill cancer cells slow is the best effective way. Still learning what that means.

killing slow is bad..gives cancer time to just...best to wipe out fast....just like a war

maybe 1 x 4 a day produces a more steady state...rare for Xtandi resistance in less than 6 months
