switching xtandi to nights ???

I'm taking 4 xtandi ( 160 mg ) in the morning and , as seen on the site ...I'd like to try switching to nights. how should I go about doing that. just wait until bedtime and take 4 more at night and continue with nights the following times. or take two in the morning, two that evening and the next day 4 that night . or does it make any difference how I go about it at all ?? any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I also take xtandi and as far as I know, xtandi has a half-life of almost a week. I would take them one day around noon and the next day at night. I also changed from morning to evening and according to my doctor that's ok. Best wishes !

Ask your doctor. I switched to evening. I just didn't take it in the morning then took it in early evening.

My dad switched to taking Xtandi at night. He transitioned by taking 2 in am then 2 in pm then next night he took 4. He did well with that.

My husband switched to evening and the fatigue during the day was not as bad. He just took them later in the day with no ill effects.

Asking on behalf of my husband-

Did bone pain increase on Xtandi?

in reply toDSEE

The bone pain stayed the same , mostly in his hips and thighs .

Unfortunately the Xtandi has run its course and he’s stopped taking it .

my bone pain has stayed, more or less, the same with xtandi as it was before I started talking it , seems like. mine is mostly in my hips and thighs as well. the Zometa treatments I receive to counteract some of the bone loss side effects of lupron - xtandi can be VERY bone painful, body wide, and for several days.

Extreme bone pain here after starting Xtandi-

Almost unable to walk pa.

This is after many types of treatments -

Zytiga failed them went to xofigo for 3 treatments.

All this after chemo

But now on Xtandi bone pain increasing yet I do not read that is a side effect.

This is why I am asking.

I take at night and sleep well most nights, still have fatigue the next day but couldn’t imagine what it would be like if I took it in the morning. I’m surprised your doc didn’t advise you to take at night.

I would recommend that you consult with him about changing the time of day that you want to take it.

Due to fatigue, I went morning to night and 4 to 3 (with MO approval). Just skipped morning dose.

There was no change in PSA efficacy. But I’m not sure the 4 to 3 change helped that much with fatigue.

Thank all of you very much for the great help and input and of course ( insert big brain explosion gesture here ) I should probably ask my onc doc before doing anything ay haya hay ayahaya y. seems like there are probably substantial amounts of pluses and minuses to doing it either way. my cautious and wise wife says leave it alone since it's working so well right now and this way I wake and start my day off with the slight regain of my energy I experience in the mornings before I take it again. once again I really appreciate everyone's help. best wishes.

Keep it simple. Just start taking before you go to bed and you're done. Adjust backward if you want. I take mine at 8pm just for the reason is that is what I did in the beginning. I have a wave of fatigue in about an hour to an hour and a half which can make watching tv without a little nodding off a problem. And then I'm wide awake for when I go to bed. Enjoy.

Doc tells me to take it about 2 hrs before I plan to go to sleep. Has time to digest before sleeping but allows me to miss much of the fatigue.
