Check out add.org - ADDA they have support groups, not sure there is one for CPTSD but there may be another that is a good fit &/or you could suggest that. I'm sorry you are carrying both, that's a lot.

This is a great place and likely others with the same combo that you can connect with.

Facebook has several. Additude’s site has many messaging groups for composites or other characteristics. I’m also in a press group or two. We also have forums throu here as well.

Hi, Star2024,

Thank you for reaching out to the CHADD National Resource Center on ADHD! We offer free online support groups that you can join. While we're not sure where you're located, you can join any group that fits your time zone, even if there's not one in your state. Here’s the link to get started! chadd.org/affiliate-locator/

If there is anything else you need, please let me know.

Best,

Liseth

Hi Star2024, As Mamamichl wrote there are a couple of posts from folks dealing with ADHD and CPTSD. I guess you could put both in search box and see. My PTSD is from a specific incident, a fall that I don't remember, and the anxiety from the PTSD really makes my ADHD much worst in certain situations. I imagine that anxiety from your CPTSD may hit you in similar ways.

I appreciate being heard. I hope you are getting the support you need.

Star2024, Thanks. I'm still working on getting all of this less bumpy. But that is actually the main story line of my life.

I am glad you asked this. Sorry, I don’t have an answer for this. Just letting you know that you aren’t alone. I haven’t thought about attending a support group. I think it would be helpful, so I hope there is one. I haven’t posted anything in a really long time and I’m really struggling with symptoms of CPTSD, especially this time of year. I think it’s interfering with my ADHD and feel like my Adderall IR isn’t working as well. When I’m able to get the teva brand or the same generic brand, I feel like it works a lot better. I just don’t know how to get this brand consistently. I’m in the US and have had no luck. Also, I wouldn’t suggest asking the pharmacist for a specific brand, especially at any of the pharmacy chains like cvs, Walgreens, etc. That did not go well when I tried that. I must have triggered something because they got all mad at me and said they won’t give that information out because they might get robbed, etc.

Just to say that I also have CPTSD (Diagnosed a few years ago) and ADHD (diagnosed recently). For me personally, I think in some ways they make each other worse, but in some ways one can mask the other a bit. It would be interesting to hear your experiences?

There are plenty of support groups for ADHD/ADD online. There really aren't any social groups for people with ADHD/ADD that I'm aware of. I've been trying to find places in the Wake Forest (which is 20 minutes or so north of Raleigh) area of North Carolina. There aren't any. There are regular social groups up to the age of 40 and others that are older than 50. The social groups that I belong to (thus far) the people are either in the 20's, 50's, and/or older. It's like people don't want others in their 40's to have a social life. Sad!!!!!
