I need help very badly

I was diagnosed in 2019 with ADHD, PTSD, Bi-polar, Aniexty. I also believe i am dyslexic but I dont know where or how to get tested that don't cost a ton of money. Anyway, this college promised me i would have a hard vopy book with every class. That was a problem the entire 3 years ive been going there. To make a long story short because they have done so much to me while trying to just learn a trade or something to get a better job using my mind instead of my physical body since its wearing down fast. There is so many terrbile things theu put me through i guess to make me quit or something. They have charged me 1600 dollars for two classes where the students wothout a disability gets 5 classes for 1600. That is my disability with my ADHD is i do not comprehend what i read the first time or even the second so i can only take two cllasses at a time. I told then this when i started. I gave them my doctor signed ADHD test results to the disability office. So now i have almost 90 credits after this classs i am taking right now. I only needed 60 to graduate. They are telling me i have to file an appeal and ask them to remove 21 credits from my account so i can get my financial aid to take the other 4 credited classes. When i stateded there to get a certificate to begin a new job i only had went to college 2 semesters so i didnt use but 3000 out of my 50,000 the government allowd you to pay for your school. They have used about 40,000 of it and i had to get the loans to live off of because my husband just died and he didnt have nothing to survive on. I explained that to them. My ADHD and Aniexty there is no way i could work and go to college. The stress this school has caused me to heave heart disease now. I have filed complaints with the college , department of education, FAFSA and all of them say that isnt something that our office deals with.

Do this sound like discrimination to anyone bucause it sure felt like it?

All I wanted to do is what Gov. Tate Reeves sent out in his flyer to everyone. Go to MGCCC and sign up to learn a new career and we'll pay you while your going. Well that is what i told the lady who was regstering me over the phone.

I started there debt free and now have a 50, 000 dollar loan payment to pay back and i still do not have a certificate. I hadnt been to school in over 25 years so I was uneducated on how the college thing worked and they took advatage of me.

Is there anything i can do about this?

I have all the same sets of diagnosis but managed to explain to Drs that I am not bipolar, what I suspect is anxiety is being misinterpreted as mania. Anyway, you can ask to be reevaluated with a second opinion. And you are not alone.

I would (as already suggested) her re-evaluated for your issues. Getting a 2nd opinion won't hurt. College's aren't supposed to discriminate against you cause of your disability. I have adhd, learning disability, and am slightly dyslexic. I do have a college degree but, I still am having issues looking/getting a job. I would look on-line to see if there are any scholarships that you can apply for to get financial aide to pay for your education. Ask around to see if anyone knows of any websites that can help people with learning issues get financial aide and/or scholarships to help with schooling. Some jobs actually do help their employees pay for their education. I think (not too sure though) that McDonald's does this. Look it up. There's gotta be some jobs out there that'll help you out with financial aide/college tuition.

First, I am so sorry you're having to deal with what seems like discrimination or at the very least a not very approachable education. Second, kudos for doing it and staying with it. Continue the fight to get that degree! , look at the school's anti discrimination policy and compare your experience to each point of their policy. It's usually on their web site somewhere. Continue to gather information and keep a written record of times, dates, who you talked to and what was said. 3rd, That is a lot of debt but most students do have a lot of debt. My advice is try to figure out how much more it will take to graduate, or as close as you can. Decide if you can do that but also look for financial aid, scholarships like others suggested. One other idea I had is a tutor? Does the school have tutors? Does the school have guidance counseling? Those might be resources worth looking in to. That's what I have to add. Keep what is helpful and ignore what isn't helpful. :)
