This is a reminder that embracing your uniqueness is far more valuable than conforming to societal norms or expectations. It encourages individuality, self-expression, and the belief that you have something special to offer.
When we allow ourselves to be who we truly are, without trying to fit into molds, we not only stand out but also inspire others to do the same.
This is a call to celebrate your differences and honor what makes you unique.

I try my best to celebrate my differences. I call them super powers in interviews, as I work in special education. I just with teachers didnt have to be vanilla. The kids really like it when I am not, but it gets me judged and berated by colleagues and administration much of the time.
yes, there is definitely a balance between being your authentic self n still managing not to bring unwanted negative attention to ourselves.
its funny bc in my younger years before ADHD dx, i thought everyone was sooo vanilla n annoying. and now im older, my adhd is managed, n i actually hang out with some “ vanilla” people- i can see that they are just not vanilla in the very least!!! they just learned the art of “ work mom, drunk mom, school mom, boss mom, etc” are just different sides of the same adult.
“ vanilla” people who dont have adhd have always just embraced their different sides while us adhd folks take alot longer in life to comprehend that concept, n learn the balance of this amazing skill.
It’s amazing you talked about being vanilla, because I work as a sped teacher, and all of my supervisors want me vanilla but I can’t be 😆. I can’t even mask to be, which is why I’m 41 and have had 25 different jobs.
