I’m an older daddy. My eight old daughter and I are close. We also both face challenges from complex ADHD, diagnosed in the same month with both of us in crisis. She was diagnosed first and her diagnosis led to mine. A bit of irony still special after 16 months. Like the rest of you we reach for insights. But things are better than when we were in crisis and didn’t know what we faced.
Anyone want to hear more?

I think that you mean "Combined", which is having both Inattentive and Hyperactive-Impulsive traits.
(If there's a "complex ADHD", I will need to find out about it. I have Inattentive ADHD, myself. I know there's a Complex PTSD...which is PTSD without an identifiable traumatic circumstance as the cause.)
I'd love to know more, if you're willing to share.

I'm a 49 year old dad of a 9 year old daughter.
(She's my youngest. My oldest daughter is 30, and I've got two sons in between them, ages 22 and 11. All of them have different ADHD traits, but none has a diagnosis yet. I didn't get my Dx until 3½ years ago.)
Yes, of course, the diagnosis is type 3 combined. Was using complex in a descriptive way. Thank you for responding. I will share some more. Writing helps me and I can see this forum is helpful.
My sister and I were also diagnosed with ADHD a couple of weeks ago. The therapist suggested us an app LetterLife. It supports women with ADHD in many ways. At first, I supposed it's only for 'women' but both of us used it ever since. I think it's good for you and your daughter as well.
