Hello peoples! I hope all is well with you! I am new here and am here to chat and learn! After a lifetime of struggling with several health issues, epilepsy, anxiety.. I had all these other symptoms that were taking over my life, ruining relationships, getting bullied then and now, etc. the doctors didnt want to listen and called me a liar. Or just said I was trying to get attention (I am very shy, hate social gatherings, I dont really have friends. So I guess telling them what is going on is wanting attention!) I FINALLY had a nurse listen to me not to long ago and referred me to get some testing. And what do you know, I have ADHD and OCD. That diagnosis explains about 99% of my life up to know! So I am wanting to learn from reading and talking to others! And, I am a person who likes being asked about my epilepsy so you can learn. I hope to learn from you guys!

Welcome girl4sloths! This is a great community to be a part of. I’ve learned quite a bit and feel less alone since I found it.

Welcome! my niece has epilepsy as well, and she’s in her 20s. My RSD (rejection sensitivity dysphoria) was my biggest teller and I wasn’t diagnosed until 38. I was diagnosed anxiety in my early 20s, but I’m learning my adhd meds actually lowers my anxiety, though most doctors want to handle anxiety first bacause adhd meds can raise anxiety (imho, it’s usually when you are misdiagnosed).

I’m so glad you were persistent in getting diagnosed. You are probably feeling remorse about not being diagnosed earlier. That will pass. I’m an open book if you have specific questions. Two of y favorite adhd you tubers are adhd_love and how to adhd. They show a lot of your behaviors and different ideas how to alleviate what you can.

On personality tests, I always was mid introvert or extreme extrovert. I think that’s because I’m a true introvert (prefer to be by myself), but when in social situations, I get anxious and easily distracted, and come off as a spaz.

It sounds like most of your social issues are in your personal life. Luckily my friend group is all as weird as me. My issues lie in my career as a special education teacher. My supervisors are not supportive most of the time, and my current one is an actual ableist.
