ii recently got diagnosed with adhd on feb 7 and prescribed methyliphate 10 mg but my insurance for some reason denied the authorization. I was so excited and j knew how difference it would made. I had experienced taking concerta 36 mg but it was belong to my brother i took few of his. You know first time i took it i didn’t suspect i have adhd or anything disnt realize i have focus issues until my boss told i think you have focus issues and i think you realize it, she herself have adhd and i am grateful she helped me. The first i took it and kick in it was like suddenly everything became calm and quiet and like i could actually see like my brain have glasses to see. And i thought that was being high. I took it because i felt like my brain battery is dead and i need something to jumpstart my brain like car battery it dies and use other car battery to help jumpstart the car dead battery. And then the second time i took it, same response so i started questioning do i have adhd you know but then my parent should know i have adhd when i was younger because my brother has adhd. But girls present adhd differently than boys. Girl symptoms internal while boys is out internal.

insurance denied methyliphate
my parents never even checked for an afhd diagnosis. Back in the 80s it was seen as a boy issue and that they grow out of it. Although my brother was diagnosed in first grade, I got diagnosed at 38, and my parents still say things like “I dgaf about you a,b,c disorders”. That’s when I went no contact.
What you are describing while on the stimulant is definitely telling me you probably have adhd. Any idea why your insurance denied the med? It could be needing a prior authorization from the doc or just that you need to go generic. I would contact them tomorrow. Do you have an official diagnosis? They almost for sure need that. Stimulant meds are quite restricted so they don’t just allow them to be given easily, which is not adhd friendly.
Yes i do have official diagnosis which i got on feb 7 and i dont know i contact my insurance and my doctor but the office assistant since she will take care of it so i kinda in waiting mode because today is sunday and i am going to let my doctor take care of it. Also Zoloft help me focus somewhat but it not like i can read and absorb information

Your doctor's office and the insurance company should be able to work something out. It might be a generic or a particular formulation.
You can contact the insurance customer support, but while you might be able to get an answer about why it was denied, but it's your doctor who has the authority to prescribe, so it's your doctor who will have more influence with the insurance company.
You can also talk to the pharmacist, who might be able to make recommendations.
When I had insurance that didn't have good medication coverage, I used an app to get a coupon discount code for the pharmacy. Actually, I used two apps, and I forget which was better (they were both helpful). I got almost as much of a discount as my current insurance provides. These the the two apps:
• GoodRx
•RxSaver
Another possible way to get a discount on a prescription is to contact the pharmaceutical company that makes it. (I've heard this can work with name brand medication.)
Methylphenidate is dirt cheap you should be able to get it covered if not you are probably looking at 20.00 max probably closer to 10.00 just make sure you have a GoodRx card or something similar you can print out.
