Memory Issues & ADHD...link...are there ways to improve memory?

Hi community, I've posted that I was recently diagnosed with ADHD even though I've always known (I'm 41 yrs old).

I've always taken copious notes during work meetings and used my Google Calendar to remind me to complete tasks during my academic career and now (coping mechanism?).

I recently took an in-depth memory test with the same doctor and noticed I struggle with memory but I feel I've been this way my entire life. I'm not sure if this is something related to ADHD or not.

I was on Aderrell but it increased my heart rate too much. I'm now on Straterra. I'm on day 10 of 20 mg. My doctor wants me to increase to 40 mg in 4-5 more days.

Anyone struggle with the similar issue of memory?

Any suggestions?

Is anyone taking any supplements to support memory or ADHD (additudemag.com/vitamins-mi...?

Thank you team!

to an extent everyone with adhd had memory issues. Are you meaning long term or short term? My experience is that we have trouble comprehending information short term. My partner is an English major with an AA and he calls his trouble remembering words “aphasia”. He says it’s getting worse as he ages, and it does seem to happen more often now that we are in our 40s. I know for elderly, it helps to do cross word puzzles and do things that solve problems for our memory. I do sudoku sometimes, and we do play D&D to help us problem solve.

I was just diagnosed with ADHD at age 59. I began having serious sleep and anxiety problems in my late 40s but the doctors thought it was Generalized Anxiety. In the past few years, I have begun to really suffer with short term memory problems, fatigue, foggy brain, headaches and an inability to concentrate.

I am on Methylphenidate now and I think it is helping. I was initially prescribed Guanfacine but I felt too lethargic and even more fatigued.

My doctor also just added Atomoxitene. I am worried about starting it. Do you like it? What do you think. Has it helped with memory and concentration?

Is your diet good - meaning real food not processed foods? Do you get enough sleep? Are you hydrated? Are you other medications that could be affecting your memory? Do you exercise? The mind & body work together so I was wondering about how well you take care of your health. If you haven't been doing a good job lately try a few changes & see how that goes.
