First med

Yesterday I was prescribed Ritalin SR. trying to find more into about people's experiences with it, if anyone could share I'd appreciate it. After nearly a year of trying to get treatment, I just feel weird. Like the race is over and I have nowhere to go. Doctor sent wrong med on script (Ritalin LA) into pharmacy and my preferred pharmacy doesn't have it anyway. I know things are going to continue to go left sometimes. But damn, I'm just tired. Trying not to expect the worst.

Hi Starsallover. I was first put on Ritalin, and I felt like a zombie the whole time. After it wore off, I was awake until 3:00 AM. I took my dose (10 mgs) at 8:00 AM everyday for 10 days. Then I just couldn't do it anymore. It felt like it erased me. That said, a friend of mine has been on Adderall quite successfully for over a decade. It really works well for a lot of people. Alas, not so much for me. The amphetamines make me too zombie-like. I hope they work for you. In my area, we are now able to get Adderall generic at some pharmacies. I think I'll try the non-stimulant meds next.
