Ritalin backordered

Anyone else having a problem getting their Ritalin prescription filled. I understand there have been shortages. But I just want to know if there is anyone else having to go without due to shortages of Ritalin at this time.

Yes. Several pharmacies have told me it's been on back order for 2 months. One pharmacy finally told me they had the XR. I got that but it doesn't seem to work very well.

What is XR

Extended release. So far, I'm not impressed with it. It takes a while to take effect and doesn't seem to work as well as the regular.

The DEA reduced the amount of active ingredients of Schedule II drugs manufacturers can make again in 2023. It is not uncommon to have shortages this time of year. Most people only think about opioids. But the quota covers all Schedule I and Schedule II drugs. That includes stimulants like Ritalin, Adderall, Dextroamphetamine, etc

Hi, Allie, this month at prescription refill I discovered that there is an Adderall shortage (my RX). The pharmacist said it is anticipated January 30. Well, that's not acceptable. They said they have 20 mg but not 30, which I take. I have a call in to my doctor to discuss a workaround with the 20 or look for another pharmacy. Does anyone know what these shortages are caused by? I am already suffering the lack of motivation, inability to concentrate, can't sit still. Luckily with the holidays approaching, my work life won't suffer but always with the holidays approaching and all of the gatherings/things to do/deadlines/ I am in a pickle. Hoping my doctor can help today. Anyone else?

I take generics for Ritalin and concerta. I live in a small town with just one pharmacy, and they just mentioned they are having shortages of generics as well. I was able to get my refills, but definitely a bit concerned! I had to go without for a few days, was ok the first day or so, but yesterday was tough, the irrational impulsive thinking crept back in. Today started back on my Rx and grateful to have them. Settles everything down. You could see about your pharmacy having generics? Many people find them less effective. I’ve only ever taken generics, it took a while to find the right dosage, but I’m happy with my current dosage and efficacy. Best of luck and much love

Same here, I was just moved to Ritalin from Strattera and I am not a joy to be with right now. It's been a few days without anything and my anxiety has doubled. I'm hoping to get it tomorrow as that is when they are supposed to have it filled by.

I'm happy for you that your's will be filled. I know how hard it is to be without. I'm curious to know if they are able to fill your whole prescription. I am picking mine up on 12/26. They said they only have 24 of my 98 tablets that I take per month. I'm already getting anxiety knowing I won't have enough for the month. Just enough for about 1 week.

Yes, just 2day I was told that.

What do you mean? They only gave you enough for 2 days? Or you have to wait 2 days for it to be filled?

Not what you're looking for?
