Modafinil 100mg Tablets

My doctor has prescribed Modafinil 100mg Tablets for my ADD, replacing my Adderal. Has anyone tried this? I assume she is changing it because of the intense fatigue I experience due to long haul COVID. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has used it or knows anything about it. Thank you!

I take modafinil 100mg but I still take my lisdexamfetamine as well. I have only been taking it for about six months. It was prescribed to replace Buproprion that I was prescribed as well as my lisdex but it was not available for months in the UK. My lisdex doesn't last as long as I need so I was prescribed Modafinil as well. I can also take another 100mg modafinil as a top up dose if I need to but the only time I do that is when I am on my period as I can really notice the difference or when I am really tired and need to function that day ie for work. I don't take the extra dose during the weekend or when it is school holidays (work in a school). I'm in UK so have never tried Adderall so I can't compare the difference. I find that both work well for me. But I can't describe how just the modafinil works because I have never taken it on its own.

Thank you for your response. I’m waiting for the pharmacist to fill my prescription. Thanks again.

I’d love to know more about your experience with modafinil. I’m on lisdex too (two separate doses as it doesn’t last long enough for me either) and it works ok for focus and calm but I often get SO sleepy on it! I have a Dex IR booster to take if I’m working late but that makes me a little jittery so try to avoid it as much as poss. I’m planning to ask doc about adding modafinil to help keep me more alert and productive. Has it done that for you?

I haven't tried it yet. I am still waiting on approval from the insurance company. I'll let you know when I am on it.

I have been mostly on concerta now for maybe 10 years, but I have tried other types of meds. So few years ago I tried modafinil, but found it had no impact, was basically my normal unmedicated self. Maybe Modafinil requires a few days or weeks before it kicks in? I would be interested to know how you feel on it. Please provide an update.

I'm still waiting on approval from insurance. I use to take Concerta and it made me super emotional, which I'm not usually. I'll let you know when I'm on it and how it s going.
