Hi, I'm someone who lives with anxiety and ADHD. I've found that finding help for my attention disorders has also been helping my Anxiety that is self treated, though medically diagnosed. Though without my medication for adhd for a long period of time, I find my anxiety worsens. Does any one know if having ADHD can cause anxiety?

It does for me. How much of my anxiety is/was from 1) decades of uncontrollable racing thoughts/my mind rarely quiet or calm. 2) dysfunction (craziness) of family with zero support. Health Pro’s say that dysfunction, depression and anxiety are not communical…. But if you spend too much time with people with any/all of these issues, a lot of us can be infected. 3) Trying to make life work (not sure if I worded that properly). 4) and all the rest of every day life. 5) my unique personality and blood/brain chemistry.
My anxiety and Depression usually starts coming back as my Adderall wears off. Once I realize it’s wearing off (usually after I punish myself for a while) I need another dose.
I also get anxiety and have ADHD. I take my dex for ADHD and an antidepressant for my anxiety which helps heaps. Barely get anxiety unless something really stresses me out now. Hope this helps 😊
Yes anxiety is highly comorbid for adhd or vice versa. So is depression. And it's not all caused by ADHD.
BTW: I got lots of help in therapy with my anxiety and found that it really made coping with ADHD so much easier. One, I could avoid panic. I was a chronic panic person. Two, I could set realistic standards. Three, with anxiety, it's hard to think in a relaxed and creative way.
