Thank you for sharing. I have been feeling the pain of not getting my RX filled.

This update may be for name brand Adderall? I just had my generic Rx refilled and it was ready the next day(?). In the past, the generic refill was delayed days up to 2 weeks. I don't know-just an FYI.

Hello I was prescribed generic Adderall (Immediate release) for the first time a couple of days ago. And I was amazed they had it in stock. It is manufactured by Teva which I read is a very good generic. (I've been taking Ritalin IR over 20 years). I am wondering if it has to build up for a few weeks before you notice it working. I haven't noticed any symptom relief yet..but this was only my first day taking it. With Ritalin I had symptom relief after the first dose.

Hi Allie. I haven't been on this website in quite awhile, and just saw you had asked a question. Hopefully you got an answer by someone else, but just in case, I'll tell my experience. Adderall had a noticeable effect on me within 20 minutes. When I first started taking it, I would get this feeling of a blanket of peace was covering me. This feeling also included my mind stopped racing. I thought, this is what most people feel like most of the time. This is what it's like to be normal! I had never known that ongoing level of calmness before (until the Rx wore off).

I've been taking it for 15 years. It still works, unless I'm really stressed out, in which case it makes things worse. The effect isn't as great, but my life is more enjoyable when I take it.

You'll read other peoples experience here, and a lot seem to be like yours. They're asking how long (days, weeks) before they get a positive response.

Also, Ritalin had no effect on me. Negative or positive. What made you or your Dr decide to try a different Rx?

I've tried several other ADHD Rx, but usually the response wasn't as good as with Adderall. I call this 'Chasing the Dragon', as I'm looking for/want another drug that will bring back that blanket of calmness.

Anyway. I hoped you and your Dr have gotten this figured out by now. Sorry for not responding sooner. Good thoughts and prayers to you.

But even more so, 'Peace of Mind'.

Thank you for responding. The reason I was prescribed Adderall (generic) was there was a shortage of Ritalin (brand). My pharmacy since then has been able to fill my prescriptions for Ritalin. I was hoping the generic adderall would have worked for me since I pay out of pocket. My insurance won't cover it. Glad for you that you found what works best. I understand the effect not being as great. Same with me. But it does help with symptom relief.
