I've been recently diagnosed with ADHD, I'm in my late 25's and quite frustrated with the whole situation. Most of the time during college y felt incompetent and that has affected my emotional health.
I'll like to hear some recommendations from you guys. Now that I'm aware of how my brain works, What can I do? Which kind of psychologist should I see? Which kind of psychiatry? Most of them are specialized in children :/
Also ... does anybody knows other communities who can share some recommendations or techniques to be more efficient in my daily life?
Sorry for my grammar, I haven't practiced my English since high school.
Love u All

Welcome! You’re lucky to get diagnosed so young and in a time when there are so many resources!
When looking for a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner with therapy training check that they list ADHD as one of their specialties. Check through your insurance provider or the many new websites and apps that link you with a provider.
There are countless ways to start educating yourself and building new skills: Podcasts, TikTok ADHD community, YouTube, books, audio books, websites etc. Pick the format that you like best and search ADHD. Do a quick search on Executive Functioning.
I like watching YouTube videos of Ted Talks about ADHD. I also find it’s been more helpful talking to people in this community than it has been with people I know in real life, aside from my therapist. my therapist disclosed that she also has ADHD, so if you’re able to find someone with it too, I have found it helpful and validating knowing she gets it even though she doesn’t share much about her experience.
