anyone get really bad anxiety along side the ADHD?
Hi Pink451. Absolutely. Anxiety is a common symptom for people with ADHD. I find the best way to deal with it is through focused breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques. I would recommend downloading either of the following apps - CALM or HEADSPACE. Wonderful exercises available to ease your anxiety
It’s good to know it isn’t just me I’m gonna try that thank you
I was literally just about to ask this question. Yes, my anxiety is front and center. And no breathing or mindfulness tricks stop it. I think it means my meds aren’t working….
I found my anxiety got a lot worse when I was on the meds they put me on I’ve stopped taking them and I’m now trying CBD oil.
How did you find the CBD oil?
Anxiety.. Yes! My ADHD Rx, Adderall, usually helps with my Anxiety. Unless I'm really in a bad place. Nothing helps, until I figure out what's in my head, or just have to wait it out. Either way is horrible. My Rx also acts as an Anti-Depressant,,,,,, until it wears off.
maybe what you are dealing with is Anxiety and not ADHD. They can have a lot of the same symptoms but for different reasons. ADHD is a stimulant that actually actually causes your brain to be stressed. Because when you are stressed you are more alert and able to focus. The ADHD meds don't undo ADHD in our brains they just help us deal with some of the symptoms. So if you are already having anxiety there is a good chance that the ADHD meds are just going to make it harder to get your mind off whatever it is you are anxious about. This is why therapy can be so helpful when you are dealing with ADHD. Because anxiety is not a symptom of ADHD that some people have, it is a separate condition, and needs to be dealt with separately.
Also I am not a doctor. These are just some things I think might be going on with you. You should definitely consult your doctor.
