Welcome ... I recommend you read through past threads ... no simple answer ... other than treatment and therapy ....
best thing to do is figure out what is causing you to struggle more than usual. tap into it. identify it. and figure out how to get that factor managed, changed, or booted out of your life. you got this!

Hi pjstudevent! I use a project management tool - Teamwork specifically. I record literally ALL the things that crosses my mind or are told to me verbally as a task. I can add 'subtasks' - which I use to break down a larger project into smaller, less overwhelming tasks. I can also add deadlines and notifications to be reminded. Plus, I love the feeling of marking things complete. There are a SO many PM tool options out there - many with free versions - from the simple to the ultra-complex. It's just a matter of what works best with your brain. I had to try several before landing on Teamwork, but that one just flowed mentally for me. Trello is a very common Kanban-style app that many with ADHD use. I don't know if it has a mobile app though, and I rely on that for the times I'm away from my computer - so you might want to consider that aspect if you find this is something that helps.

That's absolutely fair and understandable. IF this is something you were interested in trying, I would suggest giving Trello a shot for a few days and see if it works for you. One, it's simple so there isn't anything complicated to learn regarding using it. Two, it's free - so you wouldn't be losing anything if you find it doesn't work for you. I'm in multiple groups for VAs to ADHD individuals (that's what I do for a living) and for ADHD entrepreneurs, and I've found that the vast majority of them tend to gravitate to either Trello or ClickUp - which leads me to believe they work well for ADHD minds. I have worked in ClickUp on someone else's project, but have never personally tried to use it for myself - so I can't fully speak to that one. Trello I have used - but I use my PM tool both for my personal life and my virtual assistant business, so I needed something more robust. However, both Trello and ClickUp are very easy to figure out and work with. Just a suggestion, should you try the task management tool route.
The most difficult transition for me was remembering I had somewhere to jot everything down. Took about 3 days before it started becoming a habit that I would do on the spot (because 30 seconds later it could be completely gone from my mind). I have my "board" set up with columns for each day of the week and I immediately add whatever it is to the current day's list, then add a quick due date to it so I'm continuously aware of any deadlines. If I don't get it accomplished on that particular day, I simply move the "card" to the next day so I can hopefully work on it when I start tackling my tasks for that day. Obviously, this kind of thing doesn't work for everyone, but if you do give it a shot I would be happy to answer any questions that come up. Regardless, I really hope you find something that helps! I was making mistakes left and right before I was diagnosed, and know that it feels like shite because we know we're better than that. Best of luck finding a way that works for you! 😊
