Anyone else had trouble getting their driver's license?

I am 37 and I have failed my practical test like eight times. I've lost count of exactly how many times I've taken the test because it got too depressing. The other day my wife and I were in a group with a few other neurodivergent people, and it came up that neurodivergent people often have trouble with getting ther license.

I wanted to start the conversation because I am at a bit of a loss. Even though I shouldn't, I drive all the time. Like too and from work every day. So confidence on the road isn't an issue. Neither is knowing the road rules (sure that was a problem on the first few tests; ADHD made it hard to study and memorise rules, but I am past that now). I just can't seem to put it all together during a test.

Any similar experiences, or advice?

Wow. That sounds really tough! I didn't have trouble getting my license, but I'm scared to drive because of all the accidents and close calls I've had due to my distractibility. Have you considered getting an ADHD coach to get you over this hump?

It took me 5 tries to get my license. I did okay during the driving practical to get my 6 hours, and okay with the practical and driving (unsupervised) during my 6 months, but when it was time to do the exam I froze and kept making stupid mistakes.
