I have muscle spasms and am tense all the time. I have to exercise for 2 hours 5 days a week lifting weights to feel more relaxed. It helps a lot.
One of the primary methods for establishing an understanding of your ADHD is to connect with impairments. ADHD is a neurological disability and people often have this sense of bravado about symptoms and oversell themselves ideas of ADHD being a super human ability. Hyper focus comes to mind. While it’s great to understand the positives one must understand their limitations and really examine how it has effected their quality of life. Write a list of things that you think are lagging in your life. Bills that need to be paid. Chores that you’ve been putting off? How well did you do in school. Are personal relationships strong? Do you ruminate on the past? Self discovery as a newly diagnosed adult could take awhile. Learning ways that you coped in the past that we’re not effective is also a good start.
Thank you. What an excellent response. I appreciate what you took the time to share.
Bella, I’m brand new to this. I’m glad to know why I did certain things. It helps. I have restless legs at night. I end up rolling over on to my side, and twisting one leg around the other, so that I don’t feel uncomfortable. Is that what you mean, or is it an overall muscle issue?
