Wet hair

I really dislike wet hair touching me, even my own. Specifically, while doing dishes which I hate with a passion in the first place. I figure, it has to do with the ADHD but I don't really know if it does. Does anyone fill the same way? If I put on dish gloves then my hands feel like they are suffocating, know it sounds weird. Any one else feel similarly? Thanks.

That's a sensory processing issue. You don't like wearing certain fabrics? You cut the tags out 9f clothes, because you can't stand the way they feel on your skin? You don't like being touched softly? You watch TV with the subtitles on, because you can't hear the dialog over the sound effects? Sudden or sustained loud noises feel like they cause physical pain? When you're talking to someone in a noisy environment, you find it hard to differentiate their voice from the other noises?

These are neurodivergent traits. More stereotypically associated with the autism spectrum. But we do need to talk more about how they're associated with ADHD.

A lot of that matches, especially the tags on my shirt. Was so happy when tagless was invented, thanks,

The worse is the bra, pulling and yanking and sorry if this doesn't pertain to you. It is horrible.

Hey ShortyKat- sensory stuff is very common with ADHD. I laughed when i read your post bc my 17 yr old daughter described exact same feeling about dishes n trying to wear a glove!!!

I have a ton of clothing “ isms”. Thank god for all the new options on market!!! i often see boys in winter walking to school in shorts!!! i always think to myself “ yep, he has ADHD. lol because why else would a kid wear basketball shorts and no coat in 20 degree weather?!?! clearly sensory issues!! lol. i cant stand clothes that are tight, or too low in front like “ v” neck tshirts, or coats that are heavy n bulky, i hate clothes that are 100 % cotton, I hate sweater material too. I hate when my hands are sticky. i hate it so much that i get disturbed if i see other people wearing things that would personally drive me to insanity. lol.

Someone mentioned that sensory stuff being more related to autism. i definitely dont have autism im kind of exact opposite of autistic, lol. i know alot of people with ADHD, they all have some type if sensory issue too.

I like v necks now bc round neck t shirts have begun to bother me, and I was feeling like I was choking and would be yanking and pulling at it. I cut some out so they were wider and that was much better. For work, button down is better.

lol, i cant do button down anything! sensory stuff is sooo unique to the individual person struggling with it.

ADHD comes in a million different flavors. we all share the basic neurodivergent stuff but how it shows up and plays out in our life can be very different bc it depends on sooo many factors.

I HATE tags! I cut the tags out right away. I never thought about it. Tags just feel uncomfortable. I also can’t take bright sunlight. We all have something.
