Meds no go

I’ve tried multiple stimulants ssri’s snri’s or whatever they are. Let’s just say I’ve tried all the acronyms, stimulants and emotional suppressants. I either have no reaction or my ADHD gets worse. Any suggestion?

Have you tried and/or heard of either Intuniv or Straterra? They're non-stimulants. Intuniv is originally a blood pressure lowering medication but it's prescribed for off-label usage with adhd, it can have some freaky side effects so talk to your doctor and see if the benefits outweigh the side effects. Straterra is used specifically for ADHD and you can take it with other psychostimulants, so maybe a combo of that and something else might do the trick.I don't have any personal experience with either, but I've had a couple friends that tried them because stimulants weren't an option for them either. If you've tried them obviously ignore all that.

If nothing else is working, maybe you have something else going on in your brain, dual diagnosis is not an uncommon thing and it can definitely have an impact if your brain chemistry is all fucked and your only treating half the problem.

I of course am no doctor, and any advice I give should not be treated as official medical advice. I am merely someone that's been through a few shitty drug trials and I know, once you find the right medication or combo of meds, you'll know it and you'll have that hallelujah moment people talk about.

Keep trying, it sucks but it'll be worth it bro.

We haven’t tried those. I’ll bring those up. Thanks!

I feel you. I've been on meds over 20 yrs so I get it. That said, have you been reevaluated by a psych lately? Maybe you have a concurrent issue not being addressed? (Said me because I'm being reevaluated Friday lol)

Yeah, they re evaluate every month. Currently doing a genetic test to see if any meds might work but my psychiatrist nurse isn’t a big fan of them. She’s only doing it because nothing is working. Past that there isn’t many options.
