Should I pursue teaching or another career?

I’m currently enrolling for the elementary education k-5 degree to be a teacher. Things I noticed today at our summer program for school age kids. We were playing monopoly and I get hyper focused where I wanted to keep playing when another student needs help with something such as ironing fusebeads and I kept delaying them cause I was in the zone. I feel like my adhd symptoms are hyper focus instead of being able to jump from one thing to another, I tend to get in the zone.

Yesterday having trouble since I got no experience establishing authority figure where the kids see me as a peer since I’m not a lead teacher, I was frustrated when two of my teachers were out of the room and I was by myself, the kids were being disrespectful as I trying to pour them food and serve them and at same time the other kids whom were younger were making noises and. I was getting frustrated and I just said stop and or I started to talk back to them, I normally work with preschoolers but I’ve been in the summer program with older kids and I like how I can relate with lot of them at first, then I kinda just was on standby until they interact with me it’s weird I have like days where I’m not talkative to them and when I’m energetic I tend to make my adhd noises and hyper activity shows up (not a bad thing) just my observation.

I tend to be a multitasker like I am writing this Reddit post as I’m warming up food and getting ready to take a shower.

I’ve had a hard time figuring out a career I should be in (nursing(wasn’t truly interested in the patient side of healthcare), graphic designing(I don’t look at fonts and or consider my self this type of artistic person/people energize me) today I gained energy even though at first it was hard to introduce an activity to the kids I basically came up with this creative idea with hula hoops as holes for mini golf and gets tiny bit frustrating to explain to them how everything works and how who goes first and don’t hit the ball until the other person goes ect. But once they got it down I started making courses as we go and when they finished it gave me a bump of dopamine.

It seems to me that you have a very good understanding of yourself and your behaviors when around kids. That is a big positive. Since you are aware of yourself you will have the ability to tweak your behaviors as you go along.
