Side effects from switching between stimulants?

Hello! I spent the last month on Vyvanse and did not love it. I switched back to Adderall XR for a three days and now am back on the generic XR, which is what worked the best for me in the past (there was an insurance change that had me on the brand name XR, which caused a bunch of unpleasant side effects).

The thing is, I've been having migraine symptoms, fatigue and mood swings since stopping the vyvanse almost a week ago. My prescriber says that withdrawal side effects from switching between stimulants is unlikely, esp since I was on a low dose (20 mg). But I'm really sensitive to medication and the reason I stopped Vyvanse is because it felt like I was getting none of the benefits and yet all of the late-day crashes.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Hi Jill,I have switched from vyvanse to adderall and personally I have seen that vyvanse causes more of the aggressive, annoyed symptoms. I believe it will level out once you stay on adderall for a greater amount of time. It gets better. There is hope.

You should be proud of yourself :))
