Hello, I was just wondering if anyone had similar issues as me. I received a diagnosis about 5 months ago and started vyvanse around that time. The medication was extremely effective for about 4 months until one day it no longer affected me at any dose to any significant degree. No other stimulant medication has been effective in easing my symptoms to a noticeable degree as vyvanse had. I was just wondering if any one else has an experience like this.

Medication stopped working abruptly?
I am currently on Vyvanse and have felt the same way, but once my dose was increased it began to be effective again. Are you already at the max dose?
This was my exact experience. Why I'm still on old fashioned stimulants.
I have been on Vyvanse for several years. While I don’t have the same drop off in effectiveness that you have had I wanted to share one thing. Several psychiatrists have asked if I need any extra bump in medication in the afternoon. It seems that some people lose the effect and supplement with adderall or similar fast acting stimulants. Perhaps talk to your dr about doing this? Everyone is effected differently by these medications and unfortunately they don’t work for some people. If you find that medications are ineffective learning CBT and DBT methods to cope with your adhd can be a big help as well.
Haven’t had this experience. Maybe trying a different delivery system/immediate release meds like Adderall? Hopefully your Doctor can help and find something that works x
Hello; I have been on Vyvanse for several years, and it seems to help a great deal. However, I do not take it alone. My doctor prescribed it to be taken along with Prozac, and the combination has been helpful. Of course, my first recommendation is to discuss your issues with your prescribing doctor. It may be that there is a need for an adjustment to the amount you are taking, either more or less. Our systems do seem to adjust to the dosages and what worked at first may not be sufficient for now. For your information, I have recently been in contact with a new doctor (a Psychiatrist) who seems to be very good, and he is going to be conducting a study and evaluation for me to see if my current treatment is what I need. We do change with time.
