Adjusting to New Medication

Does anyone find that it takes time to adjust / see the full benefits of their stimulant adhd medication? Can side effects diminish with time? I’m struggling to find a good fit and unsure how long I should try each medication &/or dosage.

Hello. I was told by my psychiatrist that typically full results should be evident after a full 7 days on the medication and side effects such as headache and stomach pain should diminish after the first 5-7 days. For me, when I first tried Concerta I instantly had a positive result. Unfortunately I was switched because, after taking it for 2 years, it was starting to lose it’s effectiveness😔. Now I am on Vyvanse and don’t feel it works as good as Concerta once did. It can be frustrating trying to find what works. I hope you find what works for you. ❤️

I am right there with you! I am on round 2 with concerta, and have tried adderall, and stratera. We have added prozac now for some anxiety so seeing if that will work better. Not seeing those miraculous results just yet but it's only the 2nd week. I have my first ADHD coaching call this afternoon so I hoping for some insight.
