Hello, I was prescribed adderall xr 30mg a week ago. I didn’t know I had adhd until I went back to school after being out of it for 5 years. The first 3 days was amazing, I was completing all my assignments and getting ahead. Then suddenly the 4th day I felt sleepy and fatigued, I have blurry vision and it’s hard for me to focus. I don’t know why this is happening. I eat before I take the medication. I woke up today at 6am and took the medication at 6:30am, the exhaustion hit me at 10am. Does anyone else experience this? I’ve researched online and it’s saying it could be an adderall crash but it’s only giving me solutions to people who have completely quit adderall, not for someone who is still taking it.

Got diagnosed with adhd last week. Prescribed Adderall xr 30mg, suddenly experiencing crash. Help
Does the exhaustion stay for the whole day? If so, it could be too strong. Are you drinking coffee with it? That maybe a bad idea for you. Did you titrate the medication and track your symptoms?
Sorry for all the questions.
That seems like a pretty high dose for just starting out. Also, the XR may be too long of a release time. Can you ask to scale back to 20mg tabs and maybe take 1/2 in the AM and one in the PM? When first diagnosed, I also felt some crashes at first that, looking back, were likely caused by the simple exhaustion of getting so much done in a short time. Prior to taking the meds, were you doing as much active learning and assignments? Your new regimen could just be catching up with you, and like any conditioning, it may take time to build up the stamina.
Best of luck with school! Sounds like you have a great start with your diagnosis and have some helpful new tools for working toward your goals!
