Does anyone else not tolerate stimulant medications? Every single one has put me straight to sleep :(

I’m so frustrated, i need to take medication in order to function and get though school. The problem is I don’t tolerate the meds at all, i can sleep 15 hours after take a stimulant medication it’s insane. Does anyone have this issue ? How do I get the treatment i need to move forward in life that i can actually tolerate to get any benefit from 😩

Have you and your prescriber:

1) Tried different meds?

2) At different doses (these meds are highly dose dependent);

3) Tinkered with the time if day you take them?

It can take anlot if experimentation to get it just right. If your prescriber cannot go through that with you, you might want to find another one.

I’ve tried everything 😩 It makes such a huge difference in the moments I’m awake , but it impacts my full ability to get the most out of it because of how sleepy I feel. Thank you for all of these suggestion though, means a lot to me

I read there are non stimulant meds they can give you for ADD. I read this happens because it puts dopamine in your brain & can relax you making you sleepy. I'm on Adderall for the first time & I'm already done with school & work.

That’s so incredible! I’m really happy for you. Nothing like finding what works for our brains especially when you’re stuck feeling like your brain isn’t working “right” haha.

I just wrote my own similar post. Adderall XR put me to sleep! Like you I'm hoping to hear what worked for others with the same sleepy response...
