I am strrruuugggling! Hi - I (45F) am new to this site, but I think it is important to be part of a community like this with people who can share their experience. I have ADHD and have dealt with Depression most of my life. I was diagnosed with Chronic Depression many years ago and ( I feel) it is under control with Duloxetine. I was diagnosed with ADHD (inattentive) 6 years ago, but have never really dealt with it. Now things are just overwhelming and I have to make an effort to get on top of this. Besides the Depression and ADHD, I have been dealing with vestibular migraine (dizziness, severe nausea, vertigo) for over a year - the drs. believe it is related to a concussion I had 8 years ago. I also have chronic pain from several horse and cow wrecks over the years.

I work full time in a specialized manager position. My employers recently informed me that they are moving me to a more administrator position and cutting my pay because I have not been keeping up with important tasks that are essential to my present position. And, maybe they are right. I really struggle with organization and prioritizing and this position is very dynamic.

My ADHD also affects my relationships with my husband and kids. My husband also has ADHD (not diagnosed - just so obvious) and I have 3 kids (20, 18 and 5) and I just want to be able to engage with them and not be in my own head all the time.

I have an appointment scheduled with my dr. to discuss medication, and I am going to try CBT.

I hope to connect with people on hear and get a better perspective on how to deal with all of this. Thank you!

Hello augustviking!

Welcome to the community. We are so glad to have you here.

I think you will find that basically all of us are dealing with these same exact (or very similar) issues and we can totally relate! The struggle is definitely real!

There are so many wonderful people here, and they are so friendly and supportive, and not judgmental in any way. So feel free to share things, ask questions, whatever feels comfortable for you.

I hope being a part of this community becomes a powerful asset for you as I know it sure has for me, and I am so thankful for that.

We are here for you and we’ve got your back! Hamsters Unite! 🐹

Hugs and Best Wishes! 💙

Hi there

It sounds as if you have lot on your plate. A dynamic job, vestibular migraines, a five yr old and two older ones. Physical injuries from work. This is a lot to deal with. Give yourself a pat on the back for your achievements!

I do think you're on the right track to ask for reasonable adjustments at work, but I'm not in the US and wouldn't know how to arrange that.

I dont think they should be cutting your pay because you have a disability or illness. I wouldn't know what to do but I'd ask them about reasonable adjustments and tell them what would work for you. Might get them thinking. I'd act as soon as possible though, before they push you into that pay cut.

Oh, also, have you heard of Brandt-Daroff exercises for vestibular migraine? Might be worth trying.
