Hi there, for those who are parents on here, I uploaded a video in which I discuss some of the common major challenges adolescents with Inattentive ADHD face during Middle & High School (with emphasis on going through puberty). Different tactics, remedies, and behavioral modifications are also discussed. The drop in the brain's reward system during this time, makes this transition one of the most difficult periods/transitions in the lives of many with Inattentive ADHD. Research has shown that those with Inattentive ADHD have the highest suicide rate among the 3 subtypes of ADHD (Hyperactive, Inattentive, Combined). If you're a parent who has a child about to enter puberty, and or about to enter Middle School, I encourage you to watch this. If you click my profile pic, it will take you to my profile, in which in my bio section, you'll see a link to my ADHD YouTube channel (the website will not let me link it in the post). Video on the youtube channel is titled "Inattentive ADHD Once Puberty Starts (Middle & High School)". I hope this helps, and brings you and your child some insight.
