Hi! I don't have dyslexia with my ADHD, but dyslexia and its math friend (dyscalculia) are both pretty likely with a diagnosis of ADHD. I don't remember the exact stats, but they're often diagnosed together (although not always, everyone is unique).

I've just realised I have 'ADHD' (I've been assessed at age 60, ref work) and I have dyslexia issues - assessed at age 44. I managed University (seriously hard work) and have worked as a TV director. (Creativity and multiskilling). But can I get on with my number 1 task..? Nope! I do a zillion other smaller tasks... and of course several different things at once!

Hey LunaBean, yep- they are super common together. I have ADHD n the number dyslexia. Another member called it dyscalculia! Its annoying, lol!

I have both and they are common as said above, i also have dyspraxia and dyscalculia (yeah so make them impossible to spell without google, thanks professionals lol)

so dyspraxia people tend to say just super clumsy, but its more than that but you do bump yourself a lit and such, and dyscalculia is the maths equivelent to dyslexia, all of which are comorbid conditions to ADHD - thereare many, and at least 50% of people with ADHD will have at least one comorbid condition

Me, me, me...

I believe they are on the same spectrum.

I also am ADDLexic, not a word.

I experience dyslexia in retrieving information and general processing.

Over the years, I have noticed that my inability to remember people's names is related to being able to recall the sound of the word, specifically the first syllable. The information is thereby; it needs more time to be defined. Once I can mentally hear the first part of the annunciation, the data flows.

The impact of this non-normative processing is that my recall of names is very slow. In a social setting, this slow name retrieval creates enormous stress; then, anxiety takes over. I once had a hard time remembering my sister's name; what stress can do to us.

Being dyslexic made writing brutally difficult; I keep my old school papers to remind me when shame was part of every school day. Although, it was through persevering with my writing that I observed another dyslexic processing blip.

In a nonlinear manner, most of what I write begins with it's ending; this necessitates extensive editing. I can perceive most of my miss processing, then again, sometimes, I am blind to it.

The combination of the two made for a hellacious K through BFA; every paper was a RED PEN shaming event. During my schooling receiving school work and test back from the teacher was mortifying. I grabbed my school papers and stuffed them deep into my bookbag.

ADD, the impacts found me early, but I have been fortunate. Diagnosed at 50 caused me to grieve my lost possibilities. McJagger-"You can't always get what you want." I never got what I needed, my early schooling presented a context in which I was considered abnormal, retarded; this also had long-lasting impacts. Shame is everywhere, around every corner, on top of, under, alongside, inside and outside, look there, and you will find shame.

But you know this. How can I help you.

I have both as well! It really frustrating right now as a teacher. I'm trying to keep up with in person, on line and alot of computer work. I have some number issues but I think it is part of the dyslexia. I often need to reread numbers because I don't always say what is written
