Hi, Lovedandworthy~

Welcome to the group! That's an interesting question, because people diagnosed with ADHD look like anyone else. You, me, your cousin, your Dad or Mom.

It's the symptoms themselves that we usually share (to varying degrees of course.) Anxiety itself is sometimes part of the ADHD diagnosis, but not always.

Here's the psychiatry definition of anxiety:PSYCHIATRY

DEFINITION:

a nervous disorder characterized by a state of excessive uneasiness and apprehension, typically with compulsive behavior or panic attacks.

However, ADHD has a lot of different components. There is an excellent article in the ADDitude Magazine that goes in depth about this condition. Here's the link;

Also, have you seen a doctor?? Have you seen a psychiatrist? If no to both, go to the doctor first and discuss this situation. Take care of your health in life, as it's VERY important.

Hope this information helps you out on your journey.

Thank you for your reply. Trying to figure things out more. I have been diagnosed with ADHD for a long time and take Adderall for it. I also have always had a lot of of anxiety since I was very young. I was reading more on ADHD and came across a Dr.Amen who identifies 9 types of ADHD one being anxious.

That's why I asked the question.

I know ADHD is definitely a regulation disorder based in neurotransmitters. I've been doing alot more reading on it and now understand it's far more than a short attention span. I think I will be reading Dr.hallowells comprehensive book on adult ADHD. I also found Dr Russell Barkley on YouTube to give the clearest and most accurate description of ADHD. ( I'm Leary of Dr Amens work).

I'm trying to have better health.

Hello again~ Glad to hear you are researching everything out. One thing you have not said yet is whether or not you've seen a doctor and been diagnosed??

Best wishes with everything!!

The face usually appears neutral with tic type sensation. Tic related situations can have genetic predispositions so as not to worry about that.

Any ADHD medication may cause it. Usually the facial tic sensation appears as a symptom first, by 2 to 3 years and then ADHD symptoms arise. ADHD is a spectrum disorder and facial changes can differ in both males and females. Despite how it makes us look, we can always resort to therapies as simple as visiting the spa for facial massage or even self-care techniques.

You can resort to :

1. Facial massages

2. Using jade rollers to soothe facial muscles

3. have aromatherapy to let lose the worrisome look on face

4.Smile more often

5. Wear colors that enhance your spirit

6. Improve overall body posture.

Small things can make an impact.

Bless you

Thank you very much. I appreciate your response. Is the anxiety aspect any different or is it just a distinction of tics? Are there a broad range of tics in one person? I don't want to sound rude, I'm seriously interested. Thank you
