I’ve been taking adderal for the past 3 months. My doc switched me to Vyvanse when I kept getting anxiety once the adderal wore off. I don’t like Vyvanse as much (I’m not as productive) and I’m still getting anxiety. I have also lost 35lbs from exercise and dieting (I am still hungry taking these meds). Can my tolerance be lowered since I lost weight? I do not want to get off of adderal bc it helps so much minus the anxiety. I’m also on fluoxetine and wellbutrin.
My dosages below:
150 Wellbutrin
60mg Fluoxetine
50mg Vyvanse

Hi There, I recently started Vyvanse too. I would give it a good go, a month or so. I have found Vyvanse almost eliminated most of the anxiety I had before. It's still there but it's not so bothersome and disabling. And I can rationally tell myself it's all in my head if something provokes anxiety and it mostly goes away - It didn't do this before, even when I was taking Paxil. Talk to your doctor of course but I, personally would give Vyvanse a good shot because it has really changed my life for the better. No other meds I've been on have helped me so much. Time will tell if it continues. Good Luck.
ok great! That is so good to hear. I will keep trying. Do you drink coffee with it because I think that is also a factor. I have the hardest time not havin a cup of coffee!
I don't drink coffee or have any caffeine at all. I was never a coffee drinker anyways. Also, I stopped taking Paxil for anxiety when I started Vyvanse. It looks like I don't even need it anymore. It's only been a couple of weeks but so far so good. Google Antidepressants and ADHD medication combination - lots of information to research. Please talk to your doctor - I am not a medical professional, it's just my opinion for you based on my experience with Vyvanse.
Hi there. Getting anxiety or irritability once stimulant medication wears off is very common, it's also known as the medication crash. This has to do with your dopamine and norepinephrine levels needing to reach equilibrium again. In order to help eliminate/diminish the medication crash, I highly recommend taking the supplement N-Acetyl Tyrosine 30min to an hour before the medication wears off, since it helps the brain with those same two neurotransmitters. This supplement can be bought in grocery stores over the counter.
