Hello,
I am new to this community, and recently started searching online for information about adult ADD, distraction, procrastination, etc., that may help me. I'm glad to see a wealth of information and relieved, in a way, that there are others dealing with similar problems! I'm grateful for everyone sharing their information, strategies, and ideas on this forum.
Specifically, I'm wondering if anyone else has dealt with this problem of not getting to bed at anything resembling a decent bedtime hour! I've been staying up til all hours and have thrown my sleep cycle off so much that I end up sleeping most of the day. Then I get up late, feeling cranky & distracted, procrastinate all afternoon/early evening, then at night I'm frantically trying to get some things done...I can't seem to get myself to STOP and go to bed, even though I'm exhausted! And, obviously, not effective at anything in the middle of the night.
I've been doing this for awhile, but since I left my job at the end of last year I've actually gotten worse, since I don't have the structure of a job to go to. I need to look for a new job, but first I need to get back on a good sleep schedule!
I also just started cognitive behavioral therapy; I'm hoping that will help me regain some self-discipline. I'm open to any ideas. Meanwhile, I will search this site more, which I'm sure will benefit me!
