Hi everyone,
does anyone else also have legs that just need to move? I have inattentive presentation, but my legs are twitching sometimes. Especially in the evenings, mainly when I lie in bed.
Does this relate to ADD or is this something different?

I’ve heard of something called restless leg syndrome that sounds like it might be what you’re dealing with.
A quick google search says that it’s the irresistible urge to move the legs, typically in the evening. I would suggest looking into it. I’m mot sure if anything can be done about it but it wouldn’t hurt to bring it up with a doctor either.
I have RLS and it really sucks, there are times when my legs just can'r stay still. If I don't take meds at night after about 3 days I can't sleep because of it. My legs feel like they are going to bounce me out of bed. It sounds funny but its not.
It sounds to me like you have the same thing. Do you have times where you are sitting at a table and your legs are bouncing. A lot of times I don't notice it right away and my husband will put his hand on my leg to make me stop. Or I just got to move, get up, I just can't sit still. That could just be my ADD.
Hi Leo,
thanks for the reply. How was this diagnosed? Did you have to go to a sleep centre? I learned that it is a sleeping disorder that's why I am wondering. For me it feels like I have to kick with my legs, I cannot keep still. Also in bed I can lie awake because of it.
I am not aware of my legs bouncing.
What kind of meds do you take?
I was diagnosed many years ago by the same doctor that does most of my meds, my Phycologist. And yes kicking in bed, my covers are always on the floor. I was taking cloazepam but recently switched back to Trazadone with knocks me out at night. I need it because I can't seem to make myself go to bed. I have no choice now because with in 30 mins I'm out. And I take a low dosage to.
I wish you luck, I know how it feels.
I had restless legs wake me up at night. Back when I was on my feet for hours every day. I thought it was built up energy, so i released it by crouching, on the balls of my feet until exhausted. It works. Now I'm no longer on my feet for hours and I don't have restless legs.
I have had irritating feelings in my legs at night for 15 years or so. I was tested for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis and they both came back negative. It usually happens when I am on my back for a new hour or so, watching tv on the couch or doing stuff in bed like reading or on my computer. I don’t know how to describe it to doctors, it isn’t painful and my legs don’t bounce but it is like twitching and wierd feelings inside my thighs and ankles. I have to either lie on my side or walk around to get it to calm down. Recently my doctor thought I needed some iron so I started on that and it totally helped. So when it happens night after night I will take iron for a couple of days and it stops for a few days. Also since being on Adderall, it seems like it happens less and isn’t as irritating as it was before. Hope this helps. I also have been on Clonazapam for sleep and I was taken off and given Trazadone. It seems like I may be detoxing and my body doesn’t seem to like the Trazadone. I really don’t like trying new drugs and wish there was just one that could fix it all. Lol.
Thx for your reply Julie. My iron levels seem to be OK, but I will see what the doctor says.
