Can Anxiety and ADD medicine be taken together?

Hi there. I currently am on Concerta for my ADD. Recently though I have been having a few panic "attacks", nothing over the top, but the anxiety is there. It was suggested that I take Zoloft (spelling?) to help with that. Has anyone had experience with taking both medications daily? Input is greatly appreciated. THANKS!

I would highly recommend the supplement L-Tryptophan to eliminate/lower anxiety. Tryptophan is a precursor to Serotonin which deals with mood and anxiety. Taking Tryptohan helps people who have low levels of Serotonin, make more of it. I take it for mood and anxiety along with low dose adhd stimulant medication. Been taking it for 3yrs with great success. I recommend the Source Naturals 500mg one.

I take an SNRI with my Adderall XR and it’s a good combination for me. Everyone is different and might require different meds or a combination of meds. Do you trust the MD that recommended the combination? You’re better off finding an MD that you trust and asking them all the questions you have - they also should be intimately knowledgeable about your current and past situation - and they should know what drugs work (and don’t work) with what. Also, if you are adding any supplements to your regimen, make sure you check those with the MD too. Whether the MD believes they will help or do nothing, it is important to make sure that any supplements you take don’t interact with the meds you take in any way! Good luck and hope you find a combination that helps!!!

I take vyvanse and nuvigil for adhd and some days I take 1mg of clonazapam when I feel like I can’t catch my breath from anxiety. I only take it as needed and it works. I’ve been taking the L Tryptophan daily and it hasn’t done anything that I notice yet, and it’s been about a month now. I’m going to keep taking it because even my dr said it was good to take.

My husband takes Escitalopram which helps to manage his depression and anxiety. It seems to help uptake of his SR Ritalin too. Having said that, everyone is unique, but I think careful titration is the key. Another thing he's found to help with his anxiety is when we do breathing exercises together. Just 10 minutes can really improve his day!
