Adhd :writing and drawing
I struggle with this a lot in both writing and other projects so maybe some of the things that help me will help you.
1. Find other people to learn/work with
Surrounding yourself with supportive people to learn with is the most impactful thing you can do. It's much easier to learn about a thing when other people you care about are invested in it, too!
If you're an introvert like me, social media can come in really handy here. Go join twitter or tumblr, follow a bunch of fellow artists (make sure you follow people at your skill level, not just artists you aspire to be), and start getting involved in the community.
2. Breaks - not just for KitKat commercials
People with ADHD suffer burnout at MUCH higher rates than neurotypical people (coachlindawalker.com/feelin....
If you're getting frustrated to the point of burnout, it might be because you're overworking yourself. Taking breaks when we get frustrated is NOT A LUXURY for us ADHDers, it is a NECESSITY. Believe me I know it sucks to feel like you learn slow because you need to take extra breaks to deal with the frustration, but you'll get there in the end!
3. Learning and Creating art is a never-ending process
I tend to forget this one a lot, but it helps me to remember that you're never done learning to make better art or writing, so viewing it as something you have to do quickly is pointless. It's a never ending process filled with highs and lows (a great post about this here: zerofarad.tumblr.com/post/1..., so make sure you're extra kind to yourself when you feel like you're in a low - you'll always come out the other side eventually
Sorry this came out way longer than I meant it to, hopefully some of it is useful.
