My local library has a group for kids whose siblings are disabled (yes, adhd is a disability). T where we lived before, there was a social group for kids with adhd at the local counseling office.

I would call community mental health, your local counseling office and community centers to see what your local area has in particular.

Hello MaryMo700,I am working on this. I know that doesn't help right this second as I wish it could.

I am finalizing a Parenting ADHD students course and will have a group coaching as part of it.

If you are interested I'd love to hear if you have any ideas on what you would expect from a group: coaching, comparing notes, venting etc.

I think this type of group is long over due.

Full disclosure: I am an ADHD Parent Coach. I have been married to ADHD for nearly 30 years and raised two kids who have ADHD.

Thank you. My input would be to have a support group for family of folks with ADHD (not just parents) as the whole family can be effected .

Spreading awareness about the different expressions (my son has a SCT-sluggish cognitive tempo variety, not hyper).

But most importantly sharing an ear, solutions, and resources.

Thank you for that. It seems like sharing experiences and knowing you're not alone would be the biggest benefit. And yes not just patents but maybe youth and adult groups so the kids feel they can speak freely.

Much appreciated. I will let you know when I get it organized.

I’d love this! I’ve joined a couple of FB groups including Parenting ADHD teens and it’s helpful, but it would be great to have access to something more “real-time!”
