That the child has a behavior problem. The child has behaviors that are a sign of difficulty with executive functioning and the more families understand those, the more they can help support their child. The child is not trying to be difficult but it looks like that to people who don’t have autism and haven’t educated themselves about it. And saying, “stop being a jerk” never works and only causes bigger problems!!! (Mom of 2 kids with autism)
