CHADD has thus far been a great resource. I also listen to a lot of podcast (ADDitude Podcast), but I would encourage you to get into some therapy or find a psychiatrist. I have 2 kids with ADHD and continue to learn so much with each one as they grow. Are you using any medication?
Hang in there you are not alone!
Agreed podcasts are a great tool- I listen to 'Beautifully complex' podcast every morning I've learned a lot
Family therapy or play therapy.
I really like ADDitude podcast. We tried behavioral therapy x 18 months with our son. Unfortunately he was so hyperactive & inattentive, he couldn’t benefit from it until we started medication. We tried hard to avoid medication because he was young (4) & usually most doctors won’t prescribe before 6. Ultimately he started a stimulant just before 5 (with child psychiatrist managing medication). On the stimulant he could finally benefit from behavioral therapy. We actually saw a play therapist first before psychologist & psychiatrist. I may have just gotten a crummy one. She told me our son had trauma symptoms (this was before ADHD diagnosis) because I had a severe complication of his delivery that required emergency surgery & 3 years of intensive treatment to recover. I was devastated to hear that (I already felt awful not being able to care for him as much in first few weeks). I would just use a play therapist with training in ADHD if you choose to try play therapy.
